FELMAUSA. Among the groups that showed great
interests in the elections were Progressive Youths
for Transparency and progress and the Quardu Gboni
District University Student Association. These two
groups went to the extent of endorsing the candidacy

of supporters of warring factions, which forms part of
the recommendations by the Truth and Reconciliation

Note: In 2003, I wrote an article captioned “Why Are We
Fighting” which prompted a three part articles of
rebuttal from the Liberian writer, Paul Yeenie Harry
.based in Poland. The article below is the revised
version of the previous article.
When Liberians overwhelmingly embraced the war launched
by the NPFL in the early 90s, did they think that the
war was going to be a Tea Party? Even from that very
beginning when there were widespread reports of ethnic
genocides committed by the rebels, wasn’t everyone
looking the other way while at the same time condemning
the Doe’s government?

"LET'S CHAKLA IT." By Emmanuel Abalo
July 9, 2009
The attitude has always been :"let's chakla it, we will
fix it". It is no surprise that the wanton disregard for
the rule of law and lack of consideration for the
welfare and cohesion of the Republic has been secondary
to selfish interests for decades in Liberia.
The reaction of some in government, the National
Legislature and and ex-warlords to Liberia's Truth and
Reconciliation Commission's (TRC) final report is
tantamount to "a country of men" and not laws.

LIBERIA: The Dynamics Of A
Transforming Society
Francis W. Nyepon July 1, 2009 The vision to significantly transform the Liberian
society must first deal with changing behavior, attitude
and mindset of people at the bottom of the social
strata. Change can never come to Liberia with the
majority of its people believing that public officials
do not have their best interest at heart as a
collective; or the majority of the people being stuck at
the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder.

The Dynamics of Change in the History of Mandingoes
By: Mohammed Swaray
June 29, 2009 In
Western Africa, Mandingoes are widely spread and
economically engaged than most other tribes in the
region. This was influenced by their eminent positions
in the 13th-17th centuries, when they took over many
Africa States through dominance of governance, power,
economic ventures and warrior conquest.

The Mamadee Sesay Campaign Fourteen Points Platform
June 27, 2009
By the PR As
presidential candidate, the responsibility for the
overall organization and management of my campaign lies
under my leadership. I therefore want to make sure that
we have clearly defined expectations for ourselves and
for those we want to lead. One way I think we can
achieve success is to make sure we set our goals and
specify how we intend to achieve those goals in the
short and long run. In so doing, we need to come out
with a platform that will set the tone of our campaign,
shows the motivation and enthusiasm of my candidacy as
well as excite our supporters
